Wow! The kids are finally back to school after a very muggy and buggy summer. School time also means it’s time to support your immune system because those little bugs travel fast amongst our little ones. Here are some things you can do to boost your immune system besides the usual top ten:
Eat lots of mushrooms
Drink fermented drinks like water kefir and beet kvass and eat fermented foods (see http://nourishedkitchen.com )
Add raw garlic to your diet (and a good mouth wash 🙂 )
Cook with astragalus root in your soups
Add spices when cooking (turmeric, paprika, hot pepper flakes)
And if you do start to feel ill, don’t forget the homemade chicken soup made from a pasture raised chicken (and use all body parts–even the feet if they come with it).
And of course…..see your herbalist or nutritionist
